The Chatham-Kent police have charged a Windsor man following an incident of domestic violence in Wallaceburg early this morning.

Police say that just after 3am, they were called to a residence on Lorne Avenue in regards to a domestic disturbance.

When police arrived they found that a woman had sustained physical injuries and that several items inside the residence had been broken.  The woman was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance – Sydenham Campus via ambulance for medical treatment.

Damage inside the residence was estimated at about $3000.

A 27-year-old Windsor man has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and mischief under $5000.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing
