Public Board Elementary Teachers To Walk Off The Job Tuesday, Classes Cancelled

The Greater Essex County District School Board confirmed Saturday morning that they have received official notification of an Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario walkout strike action to take place on Tuesday December 18th.

The Board says that schools will be closed to students, and that regular classes and transportation will resume on Wednesday. All day cares, Ontario Early Years Centres, and Parenting and Family Literacy Centres in the elementary schools as well as before and after school programs offered by third-party providers will continue to operate, as usual.

The Board had sent out a letter to parents on Friday warning of possible strike action Tuesday.
