An accident this morning between a vehicle and a light pole in the 600 block of Edinborough Street was caused by a frosty car windshield.

Police say that the 35-year-old Windsor woman was driving her 2000 Pontiac Venture to work around 5am when the crash occurred. The vehicle sustained about $5,000 damage and the pole sustained about $2,000 damage.

There were no injuries to the driver and the women was charged with careless driving.

Staff Sergeant Steve Bodri says that with the dark cold mornings windshields are frosting up and you need to ensure that you scrape all your windows in order to be able to see out all your windows.   Turning on the defrost will not take care of the problem unless you wait for the car to warm up.
