1500 block of Erie Street as seen on Google Streetview

Windsor Police are investigating after a single shot was fired at a house in the 1500 block of Erie Street East around 1:30am this morning.

Police say that a window to the front of the house had a bullet hole through the glass and blinds, and a bullet casing was discovered on the ground out front of the residence.

The resident was home at the time with one of her children. She told police she was lying on her couch in the living room when she heard a sound. Upon investigation she saw that her window has a bullet hole in it. The bullet missed her by about 2-1/2 feet.

Police say that the woman told them that she had no idea why anyone would shoot at her house believing that this incident may be related to a previous tenant who lived there.

Police canvassed the area and say that no one saw or heard anything.

Anyone having knowledge or who may have seen anything around 1:30am are urged to contact Detectives at 519-255-6700 Ext. 4830 or to call Crime Stoppers.
