Wind Mobile is Windsor’s newest voice, text and data provider and has made a donation to a local non-profit.

The network which boasts 500,000+ subscribers unofficially went online last week and held an official launch celebration at Devonshire Mall earlier today.

Wind awarded $5000 to Junior Achievement Windsor Essex which will be used to introduce a Technology and Innovation program to Grade 4 students at local schools. The program will teach students about Canadian inventions and inventors, help them to understand of the impact progress has on business and society and introduce the necessity of change in economic and social progress.

Wind Mobile is known for their easy-to-understand, highly competitive, low cost, unlimited voice, texting and data plans. The company announced it was building cell towers in Windsor back in May and following construction, the carrier launched retail locations at 321 Tecumseh Road East, Devonshire Mall, Tecumseh Mall, 3220A Dougall Ave, 1656 Wyandotte Street West and 3873 Walker Road.
