Two Amherstburg teens were caught red handed breaking into a house, say Amherstburg Police.

The incident happened yesterday, Tuesday November 13th at approximately 2:40pm. Amherstburg police were called to a house on Indiana Place after a watchful neighbour witnessed two males enter the rear yard of the residence. The witness watched as the two started trying to break into a rear window. After breaking the window open, one suspect entered the house and started handing items to the other.

Police arrived quickly and caught the one suspect still inside the house, and the other in the backyard. The two teens tried to flee the scene on foot but were apprehended by police.

Eighteen year old Austin Richard of Amherstburg and a 17 year old male youth, who cannot be named as a protection under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, have been charged with Break and Enter, Theft and Possession of Break and Enter Tools.
