Windsor Police arrested a 24-year-old male this morning after he knocked over a hydro pole with a stolen dump truck from the Windsor-Essex Parkway Project site.

Police say around 1:15 this morning they were called to Calderwood and Walker Road after residents in the area heard a crashing sound and they lost power.

When they arrived the truck had left the scene but they managed to stop it on Walker near Seneca where they arrested the male driver.

Staff Sergeant Steve Bodri said that “Fortunately the truck stopped when police activated their emergency lighting as the truck could have caused a lot of damage had it not stopped for police.”

Police say more information will be released later today.
