Seven People Injured In Head-on Crash

A section of Highway 3 was closed for a few hours after a serious accident that injured seven people around 6:45pm Wednesday night.
OPP say that a Chrysler Intrepid was traveling eastbound on Highway 3 near the Graham Side Road when it entered the West Bound lane and collided head-on with a west bound Chrysler Minivan. The Chrysler Intrepid was being driven by a 19-year-old man from Lasalle and he was transporting five passengers at the time. The Chrysler mini-van was being driven by a 50-year-old Windsor woman with no passengers.
Police say that the Intrepid caught fire, but that all occupants were able to evacuate the vehicle, but the female driver of the mini-van had to be extricated by witnesses before she sustained any further injuries from the fire.
All seven occupants have been transported to various hospitals with non-life threatening injuries, however, at this time OPP report that the female driver and some passengers are listed in serious condition.Highway 3 will be closed between County Rd 18 and Graham Side Road for the next few hours.
Police say that their investigation is still on going and that no names are being released at this time.
