On Wednesday, November 14th Amherstburg Police arrested two parties for possession of marijuana as a result of an investigation into a vehicle that had entered the ditch in the area of Concession Road 8 near County Road 10.

Subsequent to these initial arrests, Amherstburg Police were assisted by the Provincial Anti-Violence Intervention Strategy Unit, which is a joint forces operation made up of officers from Windsor, LaSalle, and Amherstburg Police Services, as well as the Windsor Police Service DIGS Unit.

As a result of this ongoing joint investigative effort, a large-scale marijuana grow operation was discovered in the area of the vehicle that went in the ditch earlier in the day. The investigation into the nearby marijuana grow operation has now resulted in the arrest of seven people, as well as two other persons who are wanted in connection to that investigation. In addition to the arrests related to the marijuana grow operation, officers have seized just over 491 pounds of marijuana, which has an estimated street value of just over $2.1 million dollars.

Police say that as their investigation into the grow operation progressed, they later executed a search warrant in Windsor which resulted the in the seizure of an additional quantity of marijuana. As a result of the execution of the search warrant in Windsor, officers from the joint investigative team also seized a vehicle, a large quantity of cash, and a loaded handgun.

Charged with Possession of Cannabis Marihuana for the Purpose of Trafficking is Tiffany Natywary age 27 of Amherstburg, Benjamin Hetra aged 25 of Windsor, Edward Seery age 35 of Scarborough, Tyler Natywary age 18 of Amherstburg and Rodi Sengmany age 30 of Windsor.

Also charged with a number firearms and drug-related offences are Jackie Todd Bur Koski age 40 of Windsor and Kamilla Lenart age 32 of Windsor.
