CIBC on Tecumseh as seen in Google Earth

On Thursday, November 29th just before midnight, a 60-year-old man was the victim of a robbery at the CIBC bank located at 1600 Tecumseh Road East. The victim advised police he exited the bank vestibule and was heading toward his car when he was approached by a male who asked to use the victim’s cell phone. Fearing his phone would be stolen, the victim offered to make a call for the suspect and turned away. The suspect assaulted the victim, stole his wallet, and ran eastbound from the scene. Officers searched the area but were not able to locate the suspect or any evidence. The victim suffered minor injuries.

The suspect is described as a male, middle eastern, 25 to 30 years of age, 6’2″, 200 lbs, large build, neatly groomed moustache and thick beard, wearing a grey waist length coat, light Dockers style pants, dark baseball hat and white running shoes.

The investigation is ongoing and police are asking witnesses to come forward.
