A late afternoon head-on accident at Huron Line and College tied up traffic heading to the Ambassador Bridge and injured a young boy.

Police say that around 5:40pm, a 2007 Nissan was westbound on College and made a left turn across the path of a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier traveling eastbound on College causing the accident.

When police first arrived they found a young boy being attended to by passers-by on the shoulder of the road, and he was taken to hospital by ambulance. The boy is expected to be treated and released from hospital tonight.

The Nissan driven by a 27-year-old male from Belle River sustained about $25,000 dollars damage. The Chevrolet driven by a 22-year-old male from Windsor sustained about $10,000 dollars damage.

As a result of their investigation police have charged the driver of the Nissan with making an unsafe left turn.
