First Cases of Influenza A Confirmed in Windsor-Essex

Dr. Gary Kirk, The acring Windsor-Essex County Associate Medical Officer of Health and CEO, today announced that the first confirmed cases of influenza A in Windsor-Essex County. To date he said there is one positive case in the community and three positive cases in a facility. There were no positive cases at this time last year. So far 6,300 people have been immunized at the community clinics.
The Health Unit says, that while their flu shot clinics have ended for this year, you can still call the Health Unit or your health care provider to make an appointment to get your flu shot. You can also get your flu shot from a participating pharmacy.
