Around 10:15 Thursday night, Windsor Police were called to the area of Grand Marais Road West and Walker Road after a concerned citizen called in that they had observed a suspicious male on a bicycle struggling to keep his balance as he rode with several chain saws.
Police arrived and found the cyclist in the 1600 block of Grand Marais Road West trying to strap the equipment to his bicycle. Police say that he had two chainsaws and three concrete saws, making it difficult to operate the bicycle. Police observed identification stickers on the equipment from a rental shop on Walker Road, and quickly placed the cyclist under arrest for possession of stolen property.
Police contacted the owner of the shop, and he met police at his business on Walker Road where a break in to the business was discovered. The owner had been notified by an alarm company of a potential breach at the shop. The property was subsequently returned to the owner.
Giovanni Profetto, 45 years of age of Windsor, is charged with Break and Enter and Possession of stolen property.
