Windsor Police and Campus Police are investigating after a male student was jumped by three other males in an incident that took place over the weekend.

On Saturday September 29th at approximately 6:20am, Windsor Police were dispatched to a University of Windsor student residence on Sunset Avenue in relation to an assault report.

Windsor Police met with Campus Police and learned that an 18 year old male victim had been transported to hospital by ambulance.

Police investigated and determined that the victim’s two room-mates came home before 2am and observed the victim awake in the common area of the unit with two females. The roommates went to bed but later heard the victim yelling about a cell phone and heard other males voices in the residence unit. The victim was heard yelling by neighbouring residents that he needed 911. An ambulance was called for the victim. The victim advised paramedics that he was jumped by three males in the dorm.

The male was transported to hospital suffering from a laceration under his right eye, a torn right tear duct and a fractured right orbital bone. Police say the victim was expected to have surgery at the hospital.

The incident is still under investigation and police are asking anyone with information to call (519)-255-6700 ex 4830 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at (519)258-TIPS (8477).
