The OPP Street Crimes Unit have linked the fatal dirt bike crash from October 2nd in Essex, to a rash of dirt bike thefts from the Essex area over the past week.

Jonathan Grellette aged 23 years of Essex is charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 and Obstruction of Justice.  Joshua Mancini aged 21 years of Essex is charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 and Obstruction of Justice.  Brian Dahl aged 20 of Essex is charged with three counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000, three counts of Break and Enter and Obstruction of Justice.  C.J. Owens aged 22 of Windsor is charged with three counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000, three counts of Break and Enter and Obstruction of Justice.

The OPP asks that anyone with information regarding the above incident to contact the Essex County Crime Unit at 519-326-2544. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2000.

Stephen Cardillo age 22 of Windsor was killed when his dirt bike crashed in a farmer’s field, located on County Road 23 in Essex.  Police say he had been riding a 150 cc dirt bike in a farmer’s field adjacent to a friend’s residence, when he lost control and crashed.  Police did not say if the bike Cardillo was riding had been stolen.
