Windsor Police have charged two thieves who were caught breaking into vehicles on Riverside Drive.

The arrests happened last week, on Friday October 19th at around 3:40am. Officers responded to an apartment building parking garage in the 8800 block of Riverside Drive for a report of a suspicious minivan.

Upon arrival, officers spoke to building security who advised that the vehicle had fled across the street to another apartment parking garage. Officers found the suspicious minivan in the apartment building parking garage with a female sitting in the passenger seat. A Chrysler CNC parked next to the minivan had its driver’s window broken out and contents of the glove box were spread over the passenger seat.

In plain view in the back of the suspect minivan were numerous items that Police say are are commonly stolen from cars.

Further investigation revealed the female had been in the company of another male, and both were responsible for numerous thefts and damage to seven vehicles in the building’s parking garages. The female was arrested at the scene and the male, later turned himself into Police HQ this morning.

A 42 year old female and a 27 year old male of Windsor, are facing 7 counts of mischief, 4 counts of theft under and 1 count of possession of property obtained by crime.
