It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Caesars Windsor, the GM Renaissance Centre and several other buildings on the other side of the Detroit River are showing their colours.

Last year, Caesars Windsor illuminated its outdoor water display with pink floodlights and this year has extended its display to dazzling both the Forum and Augustus towers with pink light.

Across the river, the GM Ren Cen’s five LED light rings are a bright shade of pink and are expected to remain so for the duration of October. In Downtown Detroit, the Blue Cross / Blue Shield of Michigan buildings have their rooftop penthouses illuminated with pink bulbs and a third building features a pink ribbon that faces Windsor.

The continuous pink displays serve as a reminder to citizens on both sides of the border of the importance of mammography screening for early diagnosis of breast cancer in addition to the need for funding for ongoing research for finding ways to prevent and cure breast cancer.
