Conceptual rendering of the Parkway’s Roundabout (WEParkway.ca)

One of the first big aspects of the Windsor-Essex Parkway is set to open around the end of October. A multi-lane roundabout is in the final construction stages where the Howard Avenue Diversion (County Road 9) meets Highway 3 and the Highway 401 on/off ramps.

As this roundabout is located at a key intersection, the Ministry of Transportation, with support from the Windsor Essex Mobility Group and Parkway Infrastructure Constructors, is hosting a Roundabout Public Education Center to help the general public familiarize themselves with how these work.

The open house will showcase the benefits of the roundabout, educate motorists on how to enter and exit the Parkway roundabout, explain how to use proper signalling, teach what to do when you encounter an emergency vehicle in a roundabout as well as demonstrate the different types of signage.

The open house will be held this Thursday at the Macedonian Community Centre located at 5225 Howard Avenue from 4pm to 7pm with presentations at 4:30pm and 6pm.
