Work to transform a west end plaza into a FreshCo store has progressed significantly since the Zellers location at the site closed back at the end of June.
At the far south side of the plaza where the Zellers menswear department and restaurant existed, the new FreshCo store has been enclosed and exterior work is nearly complete. Parts of the interior are complete as well and the new grocery shopping destination is starting to look like a store.
Other parts of the plaza are also being worked on and have new exteriors. The remainder of the plaza and former Zellers store has been divided up and will be leased to yet-unannounced tenants.
The FreshCo is on track for an opening in the fall.
