Windsor Police have a man in custody following an unprovoked attack on another man at a Downtown Windsor McDonalds.

Police say they responded to 93 Wyandotte Street East just before 9:30pm last night for a report of a stabbing.

Officers determined that a 44-year-old male had been stabbed in the neck, while he was waiting in line, inside the store in what they’re calling an “unprovoked assault”.

Police say the suspect fled the area heading north on Goyeau street, while the victim was taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries.

A short while later Canada Customs called Windsor Police indicating a male walked into their office on Park Street and laid a knife down on the counter.

Police responded and determined that this male was the suspect sought in the stabbing. A 46-year-old Windsor man was arrested without incident for Assault With A Weapon. The weapon was recovered.
