Leamington Community Organization Needs Your Votes!

This past spring, a group of compassionate and driven community members who all shared the same goal of helping Leamington and the surrounding area’s most vulnerable youth and women created an organization called ONE.

ONE aims to extend support and resources to individuals who are sexually exploited in our community by offering dignity and hope, building awareness, and creating a network of accessible care. The new group has spent the last six months educating themselves, building valuable relationships with local organizations, and providing what’s called ‘street ministry’ within Leamington.

ONE is hoping to provide further services to Leamington’s most vulnerable youth and women, and as a result they have entered the Aviva Insurance Fund Competition. Aviva gives up to one million dollars annually to fund community projects. ONE has entered the competition which begins on Monday and they are asking for the community’s help.

Winners are determined through online voting. The first part of the competition runs from October 1st to 11th, during which there are three rounds of voting. ONE is aiming to be in the top ten votes in the first round, which will send ONE’s idea straight to the semi finals in December.
