Windsor Police are investigating yet another stabbing, the 5th to occur in Windsor since August 18th.

Staff Sergeant Jeff Verkoeyen says two men were involved in an altercation at Wyandotte and Parent around 11:30pm which saw a 27-year-old man stabbed in the back with a knife.

The man was taken to Hotel Dieu by ambulance.

Officers arrested a 24-year-old male nearby in the 800 block of Langlois and recovered the knife at the scene.

Police say there is no word on the condition of the victim at this time nor the exact extent to which he was injured by the knife.

This stabbing follows a rash of unrelated attacks with knives or sharp objects in the City of Windsor over the past month. On August 18th, a man was stabbed in the 800 block of Brant Street.

Two days later, a 28-year-old man was stabbed with a screwdriver outside the Downtown Salvation Army.

A day later still, a man was stabbed at the corner of Wyandotte Street and Windsor Avenue.

Finally, yet another stabbing occurred inside the McDonalds in Downtown Windsor on Monday night.
