On Friday August 17th Windsor Police were dispatched to the LCBO at 400 University Avenue West for a report of a shoplifter who was stuffing bottles of alcohol under his clothes.

The shoplifter, a 28 year old male suspect was still present at the LCBO when Police arrived was denying that he had stolen anything.

Officers arrested the man and a bottle of alcohol slid down the suspect’s pant leg and smashed on the sidewalk. As the suspect was being escorted to the paddy wagon, he began to kick at police in a rearward direction. His foot struck a Windsor Police officer in the knee causing an abrasion and swelling.

A 28 year old Windsor man is facing charges of Theft under $5000, Assaulting Police, and Breach of Probation.
