The Windsor-Essex Humane Society is looking for a new owner for an unusual animal – a pig.

The ‘Society says that a 10 month old pot-belly pig named Wilbur is up for adoption and he is looking for “a forever home”. The Humane Society’s Melanie Coulter said in a release, “He’s a very friendly guy, and needs a home will he will be a friend, not food!”

According to the Humane Society, potential adopters will be screened for prior experience or understanding of the needs of pot belly pigs, and will also have to reside in a municipality that allows residents to have pet pigs.

Anyone interested in adopting Wilbur is encouraged to visit the Adoption Centre to meet him which is open Saturday-Tuesday from 11am to 6pm and Wednesday-Friday from 11am to 8pm.

The Humane Society is located at 1375 Provincial Road in Windsor.
