    Regional Police forces, part of the Provincial Anti-Violence Intervention Strategy, or PAVIS, have arrested a LaSalle youth after finding marijuana plants in the youth’s backyard.

    On Thursday August 16th at around 11:25 am, PAVIS officers executed a search warrant at a house on LaSalle Street, in LaSalle.

    Officers had received a tip that a youth was growing cannabis marihuana in the back yard of the house. The youth, who was home at the time, was arrested inside the house while officers seized 30 cannabis marihuana seedlings and plants growing in various pots in the rear yard of the house.

    Officers also seized 1.8 grams of marihuana, and 5 ecstasy pills. The total street value of the drugs and plants seized is estimated by Police to be around $30,000.

    A youth faces charges of unlawfully producing a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and 6 counts of possession of a controlled substance.
