Windsor Police have a man in custody after a home invasion which turned into a stabbing.

On Saturday August 18th shortly after 11:10pm, Windsor Police received a 911 call to a residence in the 800 block of Brant Street.

Police received information that there was a home invasion and that a male had been stabbed. Police arrived at the scene and discovered a 22 year old male suffering from a serious laceration to his abdomen.

Investigators determined that the male victim and his girlfriend were asleep in the residence when they were awakened by the sound of broken glass. The victim and a male intruder became involved in an altercation in the living room. The victim’s girlfriend called police. She was later able to provide police with the name of the suspect who is known to her. The victim was transported by ambulance to hospital were he underwent several hours of surgery to repair a large laceration and internal damage. The victim is not cooperating with police.

Police located and arrested a 45 year old Windsor resident. He is facing charges of Aggravated Assault and Break and Enter.
