Work is well underway on the redevelopment of the former Windsor Ice Park facility, now known as Central Park Athletics on Central Avenue in East Windsor.

The Ice Park closed in early January after being purchased by King developments. Until it was sold, the rink had been operating under a receiver since it was placed into bankruptcy in October of 2011.

Work on phase one of the project is wrapping up with completion scheduled for September. Work has included the construction of two new ice surfaces and upgrades to the change rooms including new floors, ceilings, showers and washrooms.

Future plans on the 14 acres of property include an addition to include new indoor baseball, football and soccer facilities. A new restaurant with outdoor balcony is also planned at the renovated complex.

Applications for ice space are now available for the fall; for more information visit their website.
