Windsor Police have busted a crook who made a uniquely bad choice about what vehicle he chose to break into.

Last night around 11:40pm, a plain clothes on-duty Windsor Police officer was parked in a downtown location conducting an investigation.

His attention was drawn to a male walking around who was acting suspiciously. The officer observed this man pulling on door handles of parked vehicles. Police say that the officer reclined his seat to avoid detection as the male approached his vehicle.

The male pulled open the officer’s door and was about to enter the vehicle when he realized that someone was sitting in the driver’s seat. The officer reacted and placed the male under arrest without incident.

Cody Last, an 18 year old from Windsor has been charged by Windsor Police with 2 counts of “Attempt Theft”.

He was on facebook at the time he committed a bunch of b&es on the Victoria/Dougall area back in May and June.
