Windsor Police are evaluating the circumstances surrounding a single car accident on Wyandotte Street that caused the vehicle to burst into flames.

At 6:17am, Windsor firefighters and Windsor Police were called to the intersection of Wyandotte and Windsor in the downtown area for a car that was fully engulged in flames. Investigators determined that the westbound 2006 Dodge Charger crossed the centreline and struck a sign pole in front of an auto business on the southeast corner.

The impact with the sign resulted in the front of the car becoming engulfed in flames.

Windsor Police say the accident caused around $10,000 dollars in damage the car.

    The sign was not damaged.

The 37 year old Windsor male driver was not injured. Police are still investigating to determine if charges are warranted.
