Windsor Police are investigating a series of sexual assaults that occurred in July and have arrested a 17-year-old.

On Thursday July 26th, around 6:30pm, an 18 year old female was walking home from the downtown when she noticed a male following her, often walking within five feet. The male followed her all the way home.

When the female entered her home, the male continued watching her as he walked past her home. A short time later while inside her home, the female heard the bathroom door closing and she observed the male who had followed her home masturbating in the hallway. The woman fled to her neighbor’s residence and the male suspect left the scene.

Investigation revealed that the male had forced his way into the victim’s residence through a bedroom window. Forensic Identification officers were able to obtain fingerprints from the scene.

Shortly after 8pm the following day the suspect was identified and arrested.

Further investigation by the Special Victims Unit revealed that this male was also responsible for two other sexual assaults that occurred on Thursday July 12th at a business in the 1000 block of Wyandotte Street West, and Friday July 27th at 150 Park Street West.

In the first incident, the male broke into the business through a window and waited for the 39 year old female victim. When the victim returned to the business, the male grabbed the victim. The female managed to call 911 and the suspect left the scene. In the second incident the male followed the 19 year old female from her place of employment to 150 Park Street West. He followed the victim into the elevator and grabbed her breast as she was trying to exit the elevator.

As a result, an 17 year old male faces charges including, two counts of break and enter, assault, sexual assault, and criminal harassment and one count of committing an indecent act. His identity cannot be released as legislated by the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
