Lakeshore Man Rescued After Falling Down 20ft Deep Well

Emergency responders in Lakeshore including a Lakeshore OPP Officer have saved the life of a man who fell into a 20 foot deep well this morning.

On July 4th at 10:21am Lakeshore OPP, Lakeshore Fire and Rescue and EMS were dispatched to a house on Lakeshore Road 115 for reports that a victim had fallen in a water-filled well and was unconscious.

The 43 year old physically challenged man had fallen into his backyard well, which contained approximately 18 feet of water. The man was unable to remain afloat and was pulled out of the well by family members, the Lakeshore Fire Assistant Deputy Chief and a Lakeshore OPP officer. The Lakeshore man was unresponsive and his vital signs were absent. First responders performed CPR and managed to restore vital signs.

The man is currently in hospital, responsive and recovering. Essex County OPP say that no names will be released.
