Monday afternoon the Scotiabank at 1357 Ottawa Street was held up by the same suspect believed to have committed two robberies the week before. Late Tuesday afternoon the suspect was arrested. Joseph David Reid was charged with three counts of Robbery.

As the result of two separate ongoing investigations, the Windsor branch of the RCMP have arrested and charged three men and seized approximately 725,000 illegal cigarettes.

On Wednesday, a 77-year-old woman was attempting to park her car in parking lot of the Tim Horton’s store at the corner of County Road 19 and County Road 42 in Tecumseh when it lunged forward and struck the building. A 76-year-old male customer and a 20-year-old employee of the store were hurt in the incident.

The drive-in movie theater experience is coming back to the Windsor-Essex/Chatham-Kent area. Stevie Rae’s South Western Drive-In Theater is currently under construction on Richardson Sideroad in Tilbury in Chatham-Kent — just steps from where Essex County ends.

The Essex Region Conservation Foundation kicked off a campaign to raise funds to develop the Essex-Amherstburg Greenway, a 22 kilometre multi-use recreational trail, similar to the Chrysler Canada Greenway Thursday, with an announcement in partnership with Caesars Windsor, which made the lead donation of $25,000 to the campaign, with an additional three year fundraising commitment in partnership with their employees.
