The Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association is hoping to capitalize on the fact that thousands of Windsorites are taking the bus to and from the Belle Isle Grand Prix in Detroit this weekend.
All race fans that take Transit Windsor shuttles to the race will receive a complementary map of downtown that details points of interest and the array of downtown dining establishments. The goal is to bring people who have come downtown just to catch the bus back to downtown again to shop or eat.
The DWBIA has also partnered with local merchants to present an enter to win competition at the transit terminal, offering participants chances to win gift certificates, prizes and merchandise from downtown merchants.
Over forty merchants are participating in the initiative including BB Branded, Behind the Wood, Centre for Seniors, Cosebelle, Dr. Disc, Mazaar Restaurant, Mick’s Irish Pub, Pause Cafe, Philly Phils, Pitt for Pasta, Rogues Gallery, Shanfield-Meyers, Terra Cotta, The Coffee Exchange, The Cook Shop, The Snooty Rooster, Tim Hortons, Villains Beastro and the Windsor Symphony Orchestra.
