Shoppers Drug Mart at Tecumseh Mall, Google Streetview

Windsor Police are looking for a man after he robbed the Shoppers Drug Mart at Tecumseh Mall of a quantity of narcotics last night. At 9:40pm on Tuesday June 12th, Windsor Police responded to the Shoppers Drug Mart located at 7720 Tecumseh Road East for a report of a robbery.

Upon arrival, responding officers were met by the pharmacist who advised that a lone male had entered the store and then proceeded directly to the pharmacy counter at the rear of the store. The suspect handed the pharmacist a note which demanded Fentanyl, Oxycontin and Dilaudid. The note also stated that the man had a weapon although the pharmacist did not see one. The pharmacist complied with the suspect’s demand and placed a quantity of narcotics in a plastic bag. The suspect then exited the store through the front door and got into a taxi cab which was last seen westbound on Tecumseh Road East.

Investigators determined that the cab driver had picked the suspect up sometime prior to the robbery and had driven him to several other locations prior to stopping at the Shoppers Drug Mart. The suspect asked the cab driver to wait for him outside the store. After the robbery, the cab dropped the suspect off near an apartment building in the 3100 block of Meadowbrook Lane. The suspect advised the driver that he would have to retrieve some money to pay the fare. The driver last saw the suspect running behind an apartment building but he did not return to pay his fare.

A Windsor Police K9 Unit went to the scene but was unable to track the suspect.

The suspect is described as a white male, 25 years of age, 5’10”, slender build with shaved blonde or light brown hair. He was wearing a white tank top, blue plaid shorts and had a turquoise coloured lanyard around his neck.

Anyone with any information regarding the identity of the suspect or the robbery is asked to call Windsor Police Investigators at 519-255-6700 ext 4830 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 519-258-TIPS (8477).
