    The International Dragon Boats Festival for the Cure is in its tenth year of fundraising for breast cancer research. So far, the yearly event has raised $1 865 000, and that number is only going to grow when this years’ festival takes place from July 12th – 15th at the Waterfront Park in Tecumseh.

    One team, The First Training Broads, are holding a musical fundraiser this weekend at FM Lounge (156 Chatham St. W.). Seven bands will be performing, with genres varying from reggae, to crust punk to progressive, with some acoustic thrown in as well.

    The team is asking for minimum of $5 donations at the door, which opens at 8 pm. The first band will take the stage at 8:30, and music will continue until the bar closes.

    The schedule for the night is as follows;

    8:30 – 9:00 Repetitions (crust punk)

    9:20 – 9:50 EarthBound (punk/reggae)

    10:10 – 10:40  EVL (strong rock)

    11:00 – 11:30 Awake to a Dream (progressive rock)

    11:50 – 12:20 The Hoop (indie rock)

    12:40 – 1:10 Gone Wrong (acoustic folk)

    1:30 – 2:00 Those Guys (rock)

    All money raised at the event will be part of the teams’ contribution to this years’ Dragon Boat Festival, allowing them to take part in the annual races.
