
Lakeshore OPP have arrested and charged a 46-year-old man after he stole a credit card and went on a spending spree.
Police say that on April 21st, a home in the 100 block of Seventh Street in Lakeshore was broken into. The suspect entered the residence and stole a quantity of cash and credit cards. Within a few hours after the break and enter the victim’s bank account had numerous unauthorized withdrawals, totaling approximately $1000.
The Essex County OPP Property Crimes Unit conducted an investigation and as a result of evidence collected, 46 year old Shawn Vigneux of Lakeshore was arrested and charged.
He is charged with Break and Enter to a Dwelling – committing an indictable offence, theft of a Credit Card and possession and use a stolen credit card.
He was brought before the courts for a bail hearing and police say that as of today, he is still in custody.
