This Saturday Ford City will be holding its first ever Jane’s Walk, being held in conjunction with over 500 walks planned in 80 cities for Jane’s Walk 2012.

Created in 2007 in Toronto by friends of the urban thinker Jane Jacobs, the free, volunteer-led urban walks have grown exponentially from 27 walks the first year to over 400 walks in Canada and 500 walks in total around the world – from Calgary to Canberra and Sao Paulo to Saskatoon – in 80 cities and 17 countries.

The walks are as varied as the people taking part, and they create the time and space for people to connect, share, and develop ideas about where their communities and cities are at and where they are headed.

This is a chance to explore Ford City starting at 1pm from Holy Rosary Church on Riverside Drive/Drouillard Road. The total walk is about 4km and should wrap up by 3pm.
