Increases in tuition and fees are coming in September for University of Windsor students. The UWindsor Board of Governors met Tuesday evening to discuss planned fee increases for the 2012/2013 school year.

A tuition increase of 4.5% for all first year graduate students was recommended alongside an increase of 4% for all upper-year students.

First year domestic undergraduate students in the Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Law and Joint American-Canadian Juris Doctor programs will face an 8% increase in tuition fees in September. Domestic students in programs other than these will face a 4.5% increase in their first year and 4% increase in subsequent years, amounting to $119.65 and approximately $105 in additional fees per semester, respectively.

Tuition fees for undergraduate international students are planned to increase between 1.9% and 8% while fees for graduate degrees for both domestic and international students will increase between 0 and 8%, depending on the program.

Other planned increases include student services such as University of Windsor Student Alliance fees, CAW Student Centre Expansion fees, Sports and Recreation capital fees, and a variety of dental and drug plan fee changes.
