Windsor Police are still searching for a suspect that they believe to be responsible for three separate armed robberies over the weekend in the city’s east side. Police have released a photo of the suspect taken from security footage.

Two Windsor Police unmarked vehicles were involved in an accident on the city’s east side Monday afternoon.  Both police vehicles sustained damage, but there were no injuries.

OPP on Tuesday pulled over a speeding vehicle on highway #3 near Walker Road.  When the officer approached the vehicle she learned that the reason the driver was speeding was to get to the hospital, as his passenger had severed his middle finger.  The officer rushed the man to hospital in her cruiser where they attempted to reattach the finger.

On Thursday, OPP in Kingsville pulled over a woman who was driving a black Ford Fusion with a flat front tire, and front end damage near a school zone. Police issued a breathalyzer and the female exceeded four times the legal limit of alcohol.

Windsor Police are investigating after two men were slashed with an edged weapon Friday.  Police found one man bleeding from several wounds at a house in the 800 block of University East.  A second man showed up to hospital with similar wounds.  The police investigation continues.

Increases in tuition and fees are coming in September for University of Windsor students. The UWindsor Board of Governors met Tuesday evening to discuss planned fee increases for the 2012/2013 school year.  A tuition increase of 4.5% for all first year graduate students was recommended alongside an increase of 4% for all upper-year students.

Preliminary renderings of the University of Windsor’s new Downtown Campus were revealed Wednesday afternoon during a media event at the Downtown Windsor Armouries.

Plans are in the works for a new A&W drive-thru restaurant, and two retail stores in front of Walker Road’s Canadian Tire.  AMT Walker Development Corporation is planning to construct a 140,145 square foot commercial plaza on vacant land that sits on the edge of Walker Road.
