A long anticipated event, Windsor’s The Unquiet Dead have finally released their debut album Tales of The Unquiet Dead: Book One. On Saturday, April 7th a sold-out event at The Capitol Theatre three awesome acts joined forces to celebrate.

After being warmed up by the city’s singer-songwriter extraordinaire, Pat Robitaille, the crowd was anxious to see the psychedelic folk rock of The Unquiet Dead. And they were not disappointed. Pouring out of the venue after the set, everyone couldn’t be more pleased. An exceptional show is always expected from this band, but they have no problem living up to the pressure, and are able to outperform themselves every time.  The Unquiet Dead is a band that is difficult to forget once you’ve heard them, and luckily their passion and soul translates well into recordings.

The album itself is an eleven track selection of short stories that was recorded with Mark Plancke and Shark Tank Studio. Tracking to analogue tape, as opposed to the now common straight to digital approach, this CD is rich and dynamic, one that won’t get old after a couple of listens.

If you weren’t able to pick up a copy the night of the show, it is available to order or download from CD Baby.

Closing off the night was Toronto’s blues roots trio The Schomberg Fair.  Great players who mesh their distinct styles perfectly, there is real emotion behind their songs, and a power to their performance.
