A Windsor Police officer has been charge under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario, after a collision with another unmarked police vehicle on April 16th.

The accident happened when a undercover grey sedan was being driven by a plainclothes officer involved in an investigation and had been travelling westbound on Riverside Drive approaching Buckingham Road. As the officer came around the left curve approaching Buckingham. The officer driving the sedan said that he observed the F-150, which turned out to be a Windsor Police undercover vehicle, also on Riverside Drive west bound approaching Buckingham slowing down. The officer driving the sedan pulled out to the left in an attempt to overtake the F-150 but in the process, the officer driving the F-150 began to turn left from Riverside Drive onto Buckingham striking the passing sedan.

Police say that the Officers who were operating the vehicles were both in the execution of their duties.

As a result of the subsequent investigation, a 13 year veteran male Officer of the Windsor Police Service has been charged with “Making an Unsafe Lane Change” under the Highway Traffic Act.
