Windsor Police are searching for a suspect that they believe to be responsible for three separate armed robberies over the weekend in the city’s east side.

The first robbery took place on Friday April 13th at 2:55 am, at the Mac’s Convenience store located at 295 Strabane Avenue. The store clerk told police that a lone male with his face covered and brandishing a black handgun entered the store and approached the counter. The suspect pointed the gun at the clerk and demanded all the cash from the register. The clerk complied and handed over a quantity of cash to the suspect. The suspect calmly exited the store and was last seen running in a westerly direction behind the store. The clerk was not physically injured as a result of the robbery.

The suspect was described as a white male, early to mid twenties, 5’5″ to 5’8″ tall and wearing a hood and a scarf covering the lower half of his face. He was wearing a black and grey nylon jacket with a white stripe on the front.

The second robbery happened last evening at 8:51pm: police were called to a convenience store located at 8151 Wyandotte Street East for an armed robbery. The male clerk told police that just prior to their arrival, a lone male suspect with his face concealed by a scarf entered the store holding a black handgun in his right hand. The suspect calmly approached the clerk, leaned over the counter pointing the gun at the clerk and demanded that he open the cash register. The clerk complied with the suspect’s demand and the suspect reached into the register removing a quantity of cash which he placed in his pocket.

The suspect also demanded some cigarettes which the clerk handed to the suspect. The suspect then fled the store westbound toward Lauzon Road. The clerk was not physically injured as a result of the robbery. The suspect was seen running from the scene by a 50 year old male witness who did not remain at the scene to speak with the officers.

Detectives are requesting this witness to contact them regarding the investigation.

Then just seven minutes after the previous robbery occurred, police were called to another armed robbery at the Subway store located at 2045 Lauzon Road East. A female and male clerk told police that minutes earlier, a lone male suspect with his face covered entered the store carrying a black handgun. The suspect pointed the gun at both store employees as he walked around behind the counter. The suspect then opened the cash register himself and removed a quantity of cash from it before fleeing the store on foot northbound. Neither of the store employees were physically injured.

The suspect in both of these robberies was described as a white male standing between 5’5″ and 5’8″ tall, wearing a dark coloured hooded sweat shirt, baggy blue jeans and white running shoes. His face was covered with a red and blue scarf.

Detectives are investigating the possibility that the same suspect may be responsible for two armed robberies of a gas station on April 9, 2012 and a convenience store on April 10, 2012 in Sarnia.
