A 25 year old man is facing a charge of “Performing a Stunt on a Highway” after he was clocked by a Windsor Police Officer traveling 52 km/h over the posted speed limit on the E.C. Row Expressway Tuesday night.

Police were conducting radar at the E.C. Row Expressway at Dominion Blvd for eastbound traffic on the Expressway, when a silver Hyundai traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed approaching his location. Police watched the Hyundai as it passed two other vehicles also traveling eastbound on the Expressway, and clocked the vehicle traveling 152 km/h as it passed him. The E.C. row Expressway is a posted 100 km/h speed zone.

Police followed the Hyundai eastbound as it exited at the Howard Ave. off ramp and was able to stop the vehicle in the parking lot of the Roundhouse Shopping Centre.

Manprit Rai aged 25 years of Brampton is charged with “Performing a Stunt on a Highway” under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. His vehicle was impounded for a mandatory seven day period and his driver’s licence was also suspended for seven days.
