County Road 42 and Renaud Line was the sight of a tragic accident Thursday (Google Street View)

Hanna Nasr age 55 was killed on Thursday when the pickup truck he was driving crossed in front of a transport truck at County Road 42 and Renaud Line in Lakeshore.

The OPP report that between the months of October 2010 and October 2011 Jason Stuebing of Lakeshore orchestrated a scheme to defraud investors throughout Windsor and Essex County.  Stuebing did this by using the company names of Green House Services and Birch Tree Energy to allegedly operate and/or sell solar energy to unsuspecting clients.

Windsor Police have laid a charge of Criminal Negligence Causing Death against Alipio Gaspar aged as a result of an extensive investigation into a natural gas explosion and subsequent fire which killed a 75 year old Windsor man in March of 2011 after a gas leak went un-repaired and his home exploded.

A Veteran Cab Company driver is facing a charge of robbery after a dispute over a fare late Wednesday night on the city’s west side. The woman passenger questioned the route the taxi drive was taking which resulted in a altercation and the driver chasing the woman and snatching her purse.

Plans for streetscaping on Wyandotte West between Sunset and Campbell were released to the public at an open house Wednesday night.  Streetscaping includes extended sidewalks, reduced on-street parking, “nodes” on street corners to help bring identity to the area, new “argyle” patterned sidewalk lights, several sidewalk trees inside raised planters, decorative benches that will match the architectural elements of the University of Windsor.

Wednesday, the Windsor Essex Mobility Group, the Government of Ontario and the Parkway Infrastructure Constructors presented Windsor-Essex Parkway Public Information Open House at the Macedonian Centre presenting their plans going forward into 2012 include to the public.

The City of Windsor got on the social media bandwagon Monday by launching a Facebook page and Twitter account.  The city also rolled out a new design of its website.
