Windsor Fire and Rescue Services along with TVOKids and the Office of the Fire Marshal have teamed up to raise awareness about testing smoke alarms.
“Working smoke alarms do save lives, so go ahead and “Push the Button” on all of your smoke alarms before Daylight Savings Time begins on Sunday, March 11, 2012” says Fire Chief Bruce Montone. “Remember to change the battery on any alarms that don’t sound or if the battery has not been changed in the last year.”
To get the entire family involved, Windsor Fire is encouraging parents to let their children test the smoke alarms in your home. Children can the enter into TVOKids interactive smoke alarm the number of alarms they have tested at this website. The number will be added into TVO Kids “Push the Button!” counter and kids can print off their own “Push the Button” certificate.
This campaign runs until Sunday March 11th.
