A construction proposal for the Family Aquatic Complex has been successfully submitted by Ellis Don / De Angelis this afternoon, and will be subject to council approval at a special meeting on Thursday.
The City has made available on their website a selection of floor plans and illustrations of the proposed facility.
Highlights include a 71 meter pool, with an attached warm water pool and dive tank with removable walls, and a water theme park.
Construction will start shortly after the new year with it complete in time for the city to host the Children’s games in 2013.
The cost of the facility is 77.6 million with the province kicking in 15 million.
Thursdays meeting starts at 5pm and is open to the public.
