Windsor Police are investigating a robbery after two suspects robbed a a woman of her purse late last night in the east end of the city. The woman was robbed as she walked off a Transit Windsor Bus in front of the apartment building located at 4365 Wyandotte Street East. She told police that as she approached the entrance to her building, she noticed a man emerge from behind a garbage dumpster at the side of the building.

The man walked up to the woman and grabbed her purse. The woman attempted to hang on to the purse and screamed for help. At this point, the man pushed the woman to the ground, ripped the purse away and ran westbound on Wyandotte Street. As the woman got back up to her feet, she observed a second male running away with the first suspect.

A K9 track of the area proved unsuccessful. The woman’s purse contained a small quantity of loose change and her identification. The woman received a contusion to her left knee as a result of being pushed down to the ground but did not require medical treatment. The purse has not been recovered.
