230 Rankin Avenue (Google Streetview)

Windsor Police are investigating after a 22 year old man was stabbed early Sunday morning at a rooming house located at 230 Rankin Avenue on the city’s west side.  When police arrived they encountered a crowd of approximately 300 people attending a party at this location.

Officers and responding EMS personnel were able to locate a 22 year old man who told them that he had just been stabbed three times while he was standing in the backyard at this address.  The victim told police that while standing in the backyard, he had been approached by a white male and a black male.  The white male asked the victim his name and when the victim told him, the white male pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim three times in the lower back.  The black male then pulled out a pistol and struck the victim in the face with it.  The suspects then fled the scene on foot eastbound through the skate park on University Avenue.

The victim was transported to Hotel-Dieu Hospital where he was treated and released for non-life threatening injuries.

Windsor Police are requesting that anyone with any information regarding this incident or the identities of the suspects to call Windsor Police Investigations at 519-255-6700 ext. 4830 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 519-258-TIPS (8477).

Suspect #1 is described as a white male, 20 years, 5’6″, muscular build, with a tattoo on the left side of his neck, wearing a red jacket and red winter hat. He was in possession of a knife.

Suspect #2 is described as a black male, possibly of Somalian descent, wearing a red hoodie. He was in possession of a handgun.
