Windsor Firefighters are cleaning up from the scene of a fire at Shawarma Express, a drive-thru and dine-in Lebanese restaurant in a plaza on Tecumseh Road in Central Windsor.

Located in the Southeast corner of the plaza, Shawarma Express backs onto Mercer Street.

Firefighters were called to the scene around 11pm and quickly extinguished the blaze which significantly gutted the interior.

A fire inspector has been called to the scene while crews extinguish any remaining hot spots. No injuries are reported.

There have been soo many fires in the city in the last couple years. Now I would hate to see and old burnt out building sitting there for months, and then eventually torn down with ofcourse nothing to replace it.  :(

Dammit!  I really liked this place.  First the Drunkin’ Burrito, now this?

Another lebanese/canadian owned building set a flame?  hmmmm.

It sucks that they’re gone, as the food there was pretty good. I can’t wait to hear if this is arson or not. It seems like that’s the theme lately.
    Great photos, as always.

It is obvious and i am 100% sure that it was an arson, because this place only make money during school time and after that, workers play cards from being bored. It is all about insurance collecting. All fires you hear of in the city, they automatically lebanese bakeries and restaurants.Come on,i am a lebanese too,but i hate what they are doing to this city and how they are ruining our reputation which is already ruined for decades.
