Made in Windsor, the popular, locally-sourced sale, has two shows planned for this weekend to give busy shoppers access to unique handmade gifts for everyone on their holiday list. This year, the Made in Windsor Holiday Sale is being held at two different venues on two different days.

Friday evening, the sale will be held at the FM Lounge in Downtown Windsor.  Organizer Christine Rideout-Arkell hopes that the evening sale will appeal to both the after-work crowd and those heading downtown to enjoy Windsor’s nightlife. She said that it encourages them to “enjoy a drink and do some shopping in a festive, cozy environment.”  Rideout-Arkell is also excited that Artcite is launching Doin’ The Louvre, their annual art & gift-buying show on the same evening and just a few blocks away.  “Downtown will be the go-to place for art and craft lovers that night!” she said.

Made in Windsor’s Saturday sale will be held at the Central Library’s auditorium and promises to be equally festive with free apple cider, a kids’ craft table and, of course, handmade goods of all kinds.

Christine Rideout-Arkell considered taking a break from Made in Windsor this holiday season but when both shoppers and artisans started excitedly asking when the Christmas show was going to be, she once again got caught up in their enthusiasm, “I realized that the holidays just wouldn’t be same for me personally without a Made in Windsor event, and that I wasn’t the only one who felt that way.”

With over 15 vendors at the evening sale, and nearly 25 at the daytime sale, shoppers will be treated to a wide range of local handmade goods including jewelry, soap, purses, clothing, accessories, felted work, pottery, cards, papercraft, mosaics, home decor and much more. Rideout-Arkell loves the festive, friendly, and supportive atmosphere that surrounds every MIW experience and will welcome back long-time Made in Windsor vendors as well as a number of new and exciting artisans taking part.

The Made in Windsor Evening Holiday Sale will take place at The FM Lounge on Friday from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

The Made in Windsor Daytime Holiday Sale will take place at the Central Library on Saturday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
